Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) is pleased to announce that it has been named as Rating Agency of the Year (Malaysia) for the year 2020. This win marks the third year running that MARC has been honoured with this accolade, which is awarded by Hong Kong-based The Asset magazine.
The Asset Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Country & Regional Awards 2020 is the industry's foremost recognition in banking, finance, treasury and the capital markets. The Rating Agency of the Year award acknowledges the contribution of a credit rating agency to the Asian debt capital markets in providing investors and issuers with relevant benchmarking vis-a-vis the creditworthiness of corporates, financial institutions and sovereigns.
MARC Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Jamaludin Nasir says of the accolade, "This win is an endorsement of our stakeholders continued trust in MARC and the role we play in the debt capital markets. It is also a well-earned recognition for MARC and our staff who have contributed towards our quest for excellence."
MARC provides ratings in various corporate sectors, with key capabilities in infrastructure, project and structured finance given our longstanding track record in rating domestic toll roads, power plants, water assets and ports. MARC was the recipient of the Project Finance Rating Agency of the Year (Malaysia) award by The Asset magazine in 2020.
