Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) and SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd, Sarawak's leading new energy agency, today announced their collaboration for the much-anticipated Borneo Energy Transition Conference (BETC) 2024. Scheduled to take place in Kuching, Sarawak, on February 26-27, this two-day conference will serve as a pivotal gathering, bringing together visionary thought leaders, change-makers, and industry experts to collectively explore ideas and catalyse decisive action towards shaping a sustainable energy landscape in the region.
In a significant development, MARC's Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Datuk Jamaludin Nasir and SEDC Energy's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Hardin paid a courtesy visit earlier today to the Premier of Sarawak, the Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. This visit underscores the strategic importance of collaboration and its potential impact on the energy sector in the region.
Present at the briefing were MARC’s Chief Commercial Officer Badrul Hisham Zawawi and SEDC Energy’s Corporate Communications Manager Dennis Harun Wong, signifying the commitment of both organisations to the success of this conference.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Datuk Jamaludin Nasir, MARC’s GCEO, said, "We are honoured to be the strategic partner for BETC 2024. This collaboration aligns with our commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in the energy sector. SEDC Energy's vision and dedication to driving positive change in the region resonate with MARC's values. Together, we aim to contribute to the development of a resilient and sustainable energy ecosystem."
Robert Hardin, CEO of SEDC Energy, added, "We are proud to have MARC as our strategic partner for this conference. Their support will help build our reputation as a new energy player in the region, also putting Sarawak on the map. So far, we have received overwhelming response from sponsors and participants despite it being an exclusive by-invitation event. This will be our first, but we want to make BETC our anchor event as we grow."
BETC 2024 promises to be a platform for engaging dialogue and collaboration, setting the stage for meaningful advancements in the energy landscape of the region.
