MARC Ratings Berhad has been named Best Islamic Rating Agency (Malaysia) at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards 2026, marking another international recognition for the rating agency in the Islamic finance space.
The award recognises MARC Ratings’ standing in Malaysia’s Islamic capital market, where it has built a strong track record in providing independent credit opinions on sukuk and other Islamic financing instruments across multiple sectors.
Arshad Mohamed Ismail, Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad and Chief Executive Officer of MARC Ratings Berhad, said Malaysia’s position as a leading Islamic capital market has created an environment in which the quality and relevance of credit analysis remain vital.
“Malaysia’s Islamic capital market has grown considerably in both depth and breadth, with sukuk supporting the financing needs of businesses, infrastructure and an increasingly diverse range of projects. As financing structures and investor expectations change, rating agencies must be able to provide credit opinions that remain relevant, timely and grounded in a strong understanding of the risks involved.
“For MARC Ratings, this award is meaningful because it recognises the work of our people and the expertise we have built over the years. We will continue to bring independent judgement and strong analytical insight to the market while adapting to the changing financing landscape,” he said.
The recognition comes as MARC Ratings continues to expand its coverage of the Malaysian debt capital market, including assessments of sukuk issuances across infrastructure, power and energy, financial institutions, property, and other key sectors of the economy.
The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Awards recognise institutions and transactions that have demonstrated excellence across the global Islamic finance industry.
