MARC Ratings was recently named the Best Islamic Rating Agency of the Year 2022 at the 12th Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA). Held in Djibouti, Africa, the physical awards ceremony was broadcast live across multiple platforms on September 14, 2022.
MARC Group CEO Datuk Jamaludin Nasir said of the win, "We are honoured to receive this award once again at the Global Islamic Finance Awards. This recognition attests to our commitment towards sustaining a robust capital market, and will drive MARC in making further contributions as it navigates through its transformation journey."
In 2021, the rating agency assigned 22 new issue ratings with a total programme size of RM28.9 billion along with 108 issue rating affirmations, compared to 18 new issue ratings totalling RM32.1 billion together with 114 issue rating affirmations in 2020.
Held annually, GIFA celebrates the achievements and contributions of institutions and individuals towards the development and expansion of the Islamic finance industry. This is with the ultimate objective of promoting social responsibility, adherence to Shari'a authenticity and commitment to Islamic banking and finance. In alignment with this aim, MARC Ratings will continue with its role as a valued and trusted capital market intermediary.
