MARC Solutions has assigned a “Gold” Impact Assessment to Paramount Corporation Berhad’s (Paramount) Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework. The framework sets out the guiding principles for Paramount’s issuance of Sustainability-Linked Financing instruments tied to measurable sustainability performance targets. It supersedes Paramount’s previous Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework, which was assessed by MARC Solutions on 11 March 2024.
Paramount is a Bursa Malaysia-listed investment holding company with property development as its principal business. Through Paramount Property, the Group develops residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties across key growth corridors in Peninsular Malaysia. The Group’s diversified business portfolio also includes coworking and workspace solutions, hospitality and food and beverage operations. Sustainability is integral to Paramount’s long-term business strategy, with the framework linking the Group’s financing activities to its sustainability priorities, responsible growth objectives and Net Zero 2050 ambition.
The framework comprises three key performance indicators and corresponding sustainability performance targets that address matters that are relevant, core and material to Paramount’s property development operations and sustainability strategy.
MARC Solutions opines that the framework is aligned with the core components of the applicable guidelines, frameworks and principles, namely the Sustainability-Linked Bond Principles published by the International Capital Market Association and the Sustainability and Responsible Investment-Linked Sukuk Framework issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia.
The “Gold” assessment of the framework reflects MARC Solutions’ view that the sustainability-linked financing under the framework is expected to generate measurable environmental and social impacts, in alignment with six of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
