Arshad Mohamed Ismail is the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of MARC. He has vast experience in banking and finance, especially in the areas of corporate banking, debt capital markets, Islamic finance, asset management and development finance.
Prior to this appointment, Arshad was President and Chief Executive Officer of Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank). Prior to EXIM Bank, he held various leadership and management roles at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, Maybank Islamic Bhd, International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILM), Abu Dhabi’s Al Hilal Bank, Saudi Arabia’s Aayan Capital, and HSBC Amanah in the United Arab Emirates, among others.
Arshad holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia as well as a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School, United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Banker with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and the Chartered Banker Institute, United Kingdom. In 2015, Arshad was elected to the SC-OCIS Fellowship in Islamic Finance at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
