Datuk Jamaludin Nasir

Chairman of the Committee

Datuk Jamaludin has had wide financial services experience and exposure, gained over 27 years in origination, credit and management in the commercial, corporate and investment banking sector. Over the course of his career, Datuk Jamaludin has held leadership roles at several banks, including that of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Asian Finance Bank, Group Chief Credit Officer of Maybank, General Manager of Dresdner Bank AG, Director/Chief Operating Officer of Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Head of Corporate Banking and Capital Markets of Kwong Yik Bank Berhad (now RHB Bank Berhad). He was also a Board member of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Maybank Investment Bank Berhad. During his tenure at Maybank Investment Bank, he served as a member of its Executive Committee and Credit & Underwriting Review Committee.

Datuk Jamaludin is the current Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Bursa-listed Kotra Industries Berhad and sits on its Audit Committee. He also sits on the Board of FRD Motorsports Group Indonesia. Datuk Jamaludin was a member of the Technical Committee of the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA), which is an independent quality assurance and accreditation committee body for the financial services industry.

Datuk Jamaludin holds an MBA from Texas A&M International University, USA and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Business Economics as well as a Bachelor of Economics degree from Southern Illinois University, USA.

Datuk Jamaludin was appointed as an external member of the RC on September 1, 2014, and he was appointed as Chairman of the RC effective September 1, 2019.

Dr. Loh Leong Hua

Dr. Loh Leong Hua currently sits on the Board of MBSB Bank Berhad as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He has previously served in a variety of senior managerial roles in a few local banking groups in Malaysia where he gained much exposure in commercial, corporate, merchant and investment banking. Thereafter, he served as a Board Member of several private companies and companies listed on Bursa Malaysia, which are engaged in various sectors of the economy. He had also served as a Member of the Board Risk Committee of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC, Sarawak).

Dr. Loh Leong Hua holds a doctorate from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and he is also an Advanced Management Programme graduate from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Dr. Loh Leong Hua was appointed as an external member of the RC on July 15, 2018.

Kan Wai Sum

Chief Executive Officer

Kan Wai Sum, Sabrina is the Chief Executive Officer of MARC. Prior to joining MARC, she was the Head of Credit Strategy of CIMB’s treasury department. Sabrina brings with her 21 years of experience in both the investment banking and rating industries.

Sabrina started her career as a rating analyst with Rating Agency Malaysia (RAM). She then left RAM as Head of Business Development to join CIMB Investment Bank Berhad. During her 13.5 years in CIMB, she served in a myriad of roles encompassing rating advisory, debt capital market coverage and structuring, portfolio management and trading as well as credit analytics. She also had a short stint of 1.5 years in a boutique advisory firm based in Singapore.

Sabrina graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude) degree, majoring in finance. She also has an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas, USA.

Rajaseharan Paramesran

Chief Rating Officer

Rajaseharan was appointed Chief Rating Officer of MARC on July 1, 2014. He joined MARC in 2008, serving as the head of several rating sector portfolios. In his current position, Rajaseharan is responsible for the overall stewardship and development of the ratings operations.

Rajaseharan has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry, beginning his career with United Asian Bank Berhad in 1985. He subsequently joined Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad as an analyst responsible for rating assignments on corporates and financial institutions. His work experience also includes stints with investment banks Peregrine Fixed Income Ltd and BNP Paribas, both in Singapore, where he provided credit research and analytical coverage primarily on Southeast Asian corporates. Prior to joining MARC, Rajaseharan worked with the New Straits Times Group as a senior writer on its weekly property publication section.

Rajaseharan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Malaya and a Master of Business Studies from University College Dublin, Ireland.
