Rajan was appointed Chief Rating Officer of MARC on July 1, 2014. He joined MARC in 2008, serving as the head of several rating sector portfolios. In his current position, Rajan is responsible for the overall stewardship and development of the ratings operations.

Rajan has longstanding experience in the finance industry, beginning his career with United Asian Bank Berhad. He subsequently joined Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad as an analyst responsible for rating assignments on corporates and financial institutions. His work experience also includes stints with investment banks Peregrine Fixed Income Ltd and BNP Paribas, both in Singapore, where he provided credit research and analytical coverage primarily on Southeast Asian corporates. Prior to joining MARC, Rajan worked with the New Straits Times Group as a senior writer on its weekly property publication section.

Rajan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from the University of Malaya and a Master of Business Studies from University College Dublin, Ireland.

Mohd Izazee Ismail

Head, Rating Portfolio, Financial Institutions

Izazee is the Rating Portfolio Head for Financial Institutions. Izazee has more than 23 years of experience in the risk analysis of financial institutions, Islamic finance, ratings, debt securities and corporate banking. Prior to joining MARC, he was the General Manager of the Insurance, Risk Assessment and Monitoring division of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia where he was responsible for the analysis and monitoring of member institutions’ risk levels as well as the premium and levy collection function. He has also held managerial roles at RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad (now known as RHB Investment Bank Berhad) and Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad. Izazee holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Hafiza Abdul Rashid

Head, Rating Portfolio, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

Hafiza is the Rating Portfolio Head for Infrastructure and Telecommunications. Hafiza started her career in a financial institution and later joined Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad where she spent more than 17 years in credit rating. Most recently she spent close to 8 years at UEM Group Berhad in the area of risk management. Hafiza holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Western Illinois University, USA.

Sharidan Salleh

Head, Rating Portfolio, Project Finance and Energy

Sharidan is the Rating Portfolio Head for Project Finance and Energy. He has been with MARC for 7 years. Prior to joining MARC, he spent 13 years working in the local financial services industry in the areas of credit, investment research and private equity investment. Sharidan has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in finance from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Taufiq Kamal

Head, Rating Portfolio, Construction, Property, Plantation and Retailing

Taufiq is the Rating Portfolio Head for Construction, Property, Plantation and Retailing. He has been with MARC for 9 years. He responsible for ratings in the property, automotive and services sectors. He also oversees a rating portfolio of debt issuances by Malaysian conglomerates. Taufiq holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from University of the West of England.

Firdaos Rosli

Chief Economist, MARC

Firdaos joined MARC as Head of Economic Research, with over 15 years of experience in economic development in November 2020. As MARC's Chief Economist, he is responsible for economic, sovereign and sub-sovereign rating as well as fixed-income macroeconomic research output.

In the early years of his career, Firdaos worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia and RHB Bank Berhad. From 2005-2010, Firdaos served with the Malaysian government as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer under the purview of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), where he worked on policies concerning bilateral and regional trade relations, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and industrial development. He also served in the Minister's Office as the Senior Private Secretary to the Deputy Minister of MITI from 2008 to 2010.

Prior to joining MARC, Firdaos served with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia from January 2011 to October 2020 where he moved up the ranks from Senior Analyst in Economics to the Director of Economics, Trade and Regional Integration, having assumed the latter post in April 2017. During his time with ISIS, he also served as a short-term external consultant to the World Bank and was a former EXCO member of the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association.

Firdaos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance degree from Lancaster University, UK. He also completed his Master of Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science as a 2019/2020 Chevening scholar. He holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), Malaysia and Business Foundation Programme from St. Andrew's College in Cambridge, UK.

Quah Boon Huat

Senior Economist

Boon Huat is responsible for sovereign credit ratings at MARC. He previously worked as an economic consultant at the Paris-based OECD Development Centre. During his time there, he focused on generating policy recommendations to encourage stable, sustainable, and equitable economic growth and development in Southeast Asia.

Prior to this, Boon Huat was research fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). At MIER, he was responsible for the well-regarded quarterly Business Conditions Survey Report. He participated as a consultant in, among others, projects commissioned by the state governments of Sabah, Perak and Negeri Sembilan, the Ministry of Finance, as well as the Jakarta-based Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). He was also lead-trainer in the Japan International Cooperation Agency's (JICA) trade and investment promotion training programme for civil servants from African nations.

An economist by training, Boon Huat has a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Economics from Nagoya University, Japan. He also has another Master of Economics from the University of Malaya.
