Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) is a Malaysian based credit rating institution. Commencing operations in 1996, our rating coverage extends to Financial Institutions and Insurance, Structured Finance, Public Finance, and Infrastructure and Project Finance.

Our analytical team provides public and private ratings primarily to debt instruments across a wide range of corporate sectors as well as infrastructure and project finance encompasses a variety of domestic projects and infrastructure assets in the toll roads, energy, water and port sectors. Senior Rating Analyst

You will become part of the rating team – conduct research, interact with clients, analyse creditworthiness of companies, write research reports on sectors and build rapport with clients through the rating process. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will be engaging with investors and educating the market on credits and sectors. You will have the opportunity to build analytical expertise on sectors, financial structures and forming opinions to conclude on rating directions. You will have the opportunity to be guided and led by market leaders in the credit rating industry.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct credit analysis for bond issuers.
  2. Prepare rating reports and present to internal and external rating committees.
  3. Maintain and enhance rapport with clients to perform rating exercise in a professional manner.
  4. Work independently and able to collaborate with teams.
  5. Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, or Actuarial Science.
  • Candidates with CFA or Masters Degree have added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in finance industry and supervisory qualities preferred for senior analyst position.
  • Possess strong analytical abilities with excellent written communication skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and all levels of management.
  • Highly resourceful and enjoys research and analytical work.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Senior Banking Analyst

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct credit analysis for bond issuers within the Banking sector.
  2. Prepare rating reports and present to internal and external rating committees.
  3. Maintain and enhance rapport with clients to perform rating exercise in a professional manner.
  4. Work independently and able to collaborate with teams.
  5. Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, or Actuarial Science.
  • Candidates with CFA or Masters’ degree have added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing banking metrics of domestic banks.
  • Able to understand the present challenges of the banking sector including Islamic banks and providing concise banking reports.
  • Ability to analyse financial institutions in depth for the purpose of assigning credit ratings.
  • Have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.
  • Good knowledge of the business activities and risks facing the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrates technical competence, sound professional judgement and good understanding of accounting, taxation, credit, treasury and corporate finance issues.
  • Ability to grasp strategic and technical issues and effectively communicate such issues verbally and in writing.
  • Good knowledge of the statutes and regulatory requirements in relation to the financial services industry.
  • Sound understanding of the Malaysian financial system, possess awareness of national and international trends and issues in the economy and financial services industry.
  • Highly resourceful, and enjoys research and analytical work.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Training Business Manager

Job Descriptions:
  1. Plan and manage annual training calendar and monthly training P&L to meet budget.
  2. Identify and develop base of new trainers, training courses and training partnerships, and manage training contracts.
  3. Oversee database management.
  4. Oversee training content development to ensure timeliness, accuracy and fit for purpose.
  5. Provide generic finance-related training, as and when required (TTT-certification would be an advantage but is not necessary)
  6. Establish and/or enhance training processes and documentation to ensure they meet policy requirements
  7. Other training and/ or comms areas, as and when required.
Requirements:
  • Degree with minimum 5 years of experience in a training company and/or training sales.
  • Good contacts/ network of trainers, HR, talent managers in financial institutions, etc..
  • Pro-active with excellent communications (written, spoken, presentation), negotiation and problem-solving skills

IT Executive

Responsibilities
  1. Involve in the planning, development, maintenance, and support of existing and new web applications.
  2. Work closely with other departments in the areas of gathering design and implementation requirements, and testing.
  3. Write a clean code that follows coding standards and as is company’s quality assurance standards.
  4. Provide first and second level support for infrastructure services-related requests and issues, predominately with Office365.
  5. Provide generic finance-related training, as and when required (TTT-certification would be an advantage but is not necessary)
  6. Handle website/web services as well as traditional IT operations, management, security and compliance matters.
Requirements:
  • Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or other related field(s).
  • At least three (3) years of related working experience.
  • Possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Must be experienced and knowledgeable in the following:
    ∼ PHP;
    ∼ Yii Framework;
    ∼ Web service-related technologies (JSON);
    ∼ MySQL, MsSQL or any other relational database;
    ∼ Architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows;
    ∼ Office365 deployment, configuration and administration skills.
  • Strong passion for programming and researching new technologies.
  • Flexible and able to work independently or with others, depending on project needs.
  • Knowledge in infrastructure security, security compliance and operations is highly desireable.
  • Experienced in architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise level. AWS-specific experience a bonus.

Management Trainee / Associates

MARC is also offering a one-year trainee programme, designed to develop young talents and prepare them to be future leaders in credit rating and research. This carefully structured programme comprises on-the-job learning, job shadowing, financial training as well as soft skill enhancements. We offer challenging work placements and a collaborative learning environment. Rotations comprising placements in ratings, research and corporate services departments of the firm. With our support and guidance, you will realise your full potential and talent. The 1-year Executive Management Trainee Program provides the opportunity for fresh graduates to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the capital markets, in particular in credit risk analysis.
