Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC) is a Malaysian based credit rating institution. Commencing operations in 1996, our rating coverage extends to Financial Institutions and Insurance, Structured Finance, Public Finance, and Infrastructure and Project Finance.

Our analytical team provides public and private ratings primarily to debt instruments across a wide range of corporate sectors as well as infrastructure and project finance encompasses a variety of domestic projects and infrastructure assets in the toll roads, energy, water and port sectors. MARC also rates financial institutions, state governments and structured finance transactions, and regularly publishes considerable independent research on the domestic bond markets, industry trends and economic issues of general interest to the investing public.

Learning Sales Consultant, MARC Learning Sdn Bhd

Assist MARC Learning to develop and implement long-term strategic learning plans, identify new market niches/geographic markets and to support, drive and position the sales process to meet the overall Learning Budget. This will include:

  • Facilitate all sales activities/functions to the targeted clients;
  • Drive attainment of Open Enrolment sales revenue as well as track and drive productivity matrix;
  • Conduct research and recommend prospects for new business opportunities;
  • Serve as a primary interface between MARC Learning Team and other operational functions;
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients and prospects;
  • Recognize potential clients and strive to meet client's learning needs;
  • Keep pace with current trends and competitors to identify improvements or recommend new products;
  • Prepare and submit Learning Sales reports regularly.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or equivalent combination of education;
  • At least 3 years of related professional experience in Learning & Development (L&D) in Financial industry;
  • Knowledge of Sales and Sales processes;
  • Good working understanding of related operational areas: Learning & Development, Marketing, Operations are considered as an advantage;
  • Self-starter with passion and sense of urgency and ability to build relationships with stakeholders;
  • Ability to adapt and grow in a competitive environment;
  • Ability to negotiate and understanding of marketing skills.

Rating Analyst/ Senior Rating Analyst

You will become part of the rating team – conduct research, interact with clients, analyse creditworthiness of companies, write research reports on sectors and build rapport with clients through the rating process. You will have the opportunity to build analytical expertise on sectors, financial structures and forming opinions to conclude on rating directions.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, or Actuarial Science;
  • Candidates with CFA or Master’s Degree have an added advantage;
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in finance industry and supervisory qualities preferred for analyst position;
  • Possess strong analytical abilities with excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and to meet tight deadline.

MAP Associate

The MARC Associate Enrichment Programme (MAP) is a 6-month programme designed to help you accelerate your professional growth. Gain insights into the credit rating industry and broaden your skill set in a dynamic working environment - be on your way towards building a successful career! This platform provides the opportunity for the Associate to be absorbed as an Executive upon completion of the programme.

Requirements:
  • Fresh graduate (not more than 3 years from the graduation date);
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Management, Banking & Finance, Actuarial Science, Marketing Research, Law, Mass Communications, Journalism, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Management;
  • Those with a Master’s Degree will have an added advantage.

Consultant, ESG/Sustainability

You will be responsible for product development, product strategy, analytical approach, execution of the assessments, and client servicing in relation to ESG/sustainability analytical offerings and services. This will include:

  • Produce proprietary analytical frameworks required to support MARC’s sustainability/ESG offerings;
  • Produce quality analysis in the sustainability assessments space;
  • Develop new sustainability offerings based on stakeholder needs that are relevant for the market in its current stage of development;
  • Aids in business development initiatives to raise the profile and understanding of MARC’s products and capabilities in this space;
  • Develop industry and issue-specific expertise required to act as a resource to rating analysts in the integration of ESG factors into credit risk analysis;
  • Oversee the creation of awareness creating educational and marketing materials;
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental sciences, environmental management, engineering or sustainability;
  • At least 5 years of related professional experience in a sustainability-related role;
  • Knowledge of ESG concepts and ability to synthesize a breadth of company-level ESG issues;
  • Possess strong analytical, strategic, critical thinking skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ease in working with others and a collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills.

Data Analyst (Product Development)


You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for systems, large-scale data sets, data mining, and research purposes. This will include:

  • Data model creation, development, visualization & deployment;
  • Establish new data gathering and analysis techniques;
  • Design & develop analytical models in providing valuable insights together with business stakeholders;
  • Identify, design, develop, and execute the required analytical algorithms, techniques and statistical methods to provide business data solutions;
  • Create input from various data sources for IT data extraction;
  • Conduct UAT with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy;
  • Serve as key liaison person for Data, IT and Business Teams and relevant stakeholders;
  • Assist management and other teams to establish business needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree/MBA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a data analysis;
  • Possess data analytical skills, preferably in credit data;
  • Strong programming skill and experience in database tools, i.e. SQL BI Reporting tools;
  • Skills in MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia;
  • Possess excellent listening, problem-solving and decision making skills.

Consultant, Debt Funding and Restructuring


You will be responsible in providing analytical & financial modelling during debt advisory & restructuring consulting engagements for clients seeking to expand and grow its business. This will include:

  • Assess and analyse client’s business, operations, and financing requirements;
  • Prepare the business proposal including financial analysis on regulatory and financial documentation as well as sourcing related industry research through Information Memorandum (IM);
  • Make necessary credit evaluation and recommendations to Senior Consultant in preparation of IM;
  • Prepare Letter of Engagement and the relevant paperwork;
  • Maintain records of debt advisory applications;
  • Monitor the progress of the IM with Banks and provide status update to clients;
  • Ensure that IMs are in line with the company's policies, as well as state laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business, or a similar field;
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a credit officer in the business/non-retail segment;
  • Excellent knowledge of loan application procedures and best lending practices according to state laws and regulations;
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to work with complex financial data;
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Strong ethical behaviour and the ability to work with sensitive financial information;
  • Good communication skills and proven customer service experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
 
Economist

You will be responsible for producing sovereign and sub-sovereign rating reports, updating their rating methodologies, researching best practices and writing reports for external clients. Other responsibilities include monitoring the production of Fixed Income publications, writing press announcements, and providing recommendations related to economic and financial market issues to government authorities.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Economics and/or Finance, or any other related disciplines; those with a Master's Degree have an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant working experience;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, computer literate and good time management.
