Datuk Azizan was the former Director General of Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), where he served for more than six years until his retirement in September 2011.

Datuk Azizan started his career in Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in 1979. During his 31 years of service with BNM, Datuk Azizan accumulated a wide spectrum of experience in finance, supervision and examination. In his early years with BNM, he was attached to PricewaterhouseCoopers and Standard Chartered Bank from 1979 to 1983 and 1986 to 1987 respectively. He was also a member of the boards and investment committees of several government bodies, including Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) and ERF Sdn Bhd, and Advisor to the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board. Prior to joining Labuan FSA, he was appointed as Director of Banking Supervision at BNM, where his portfolio included the examination and supervision of major domestic and foreign banking institutions operating in Malaysia.

At Labuan FSA from 2005 to 2011, Datuk Azizan spearheaded several projects to enhance the financial centre’s effectiveness and develop Islamic finance in Labuan in line with the Malaysian Islamic Financial Centre’s (MIFC) objectives. At the same time, he served on the boards of Labuan Corporation, Financial Park Labuan Sdn Bhd and International Islamic Finance Market (IIFM), which is based in Bahrain, as well as on the executive committee of the MIFC.

Currently, Datuk Azizan sits on the boards of Bank Simpanan Nasional Berhad, Permodalan BSN Berhad, MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad, Barakah Offshore Petroleum Berhad, Kensington Trust Labuan Ltd., Kensington Trust Malaysia Berhad, Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd, Uni.Asia Life Assurance Bhd and Pramerica BSN Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Datuk Azizan graduated with a Bachelor in Accounting (Hons) degree from the University of Malaya and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is a Fellow Member of CPA (Australia) and Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Dato’ Muthanna was a Partner with a large law firm in Kuala Lumpur between 2001 and 2008, and its Managing Partner between 2009 and 2011. In his current law firm, Messrs. Abdullah Chan, he is involved in the transformation of the firm in preparation for the entry of international law firms into Malaysia. At present, he advises commercial companies, both publicly listed as well as private, on privatisations, joint ventures, corporate structures, mergers and acquisitions, and offshore investments. He also advises private clients on offshore trusts.

He is a Board Member of Sapura Resources Berhad and Chairman of BIB Insurance Brokers Sdn Bhd. Dato’ Muthanna is a Trustee of Yayasan Siti Sapura Husin, President of Bukit Tunku Residents Association and President of Friends of Cuba Association (FOCA).

He graduated with a LL.B (Hons) degree from University of Buckingham, England and was admitted as Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple).

Md Adnan began his career in the banking industry with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in 1981. While serving the SCB Group, he held various senior positions, including a posting to head a key regional corporate banking project based in SCB, Hong Kong from 1990 until 1992. He was the Head of Global Electronic Banking, reporting directly to the Group Head Office in London, prior to leaving the SCB Group in 1995.

Md Adnan subsequently held various other key management positions within the banking industry, including Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alliance Investment Bank in 2003. He joined MCIS Zurich Insurance Berhad in April 2005 as its Deputy CEO and was subsequently appointed as CEO in February 2006. Md Adnan was elected as the President of Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) from March 2009 to March 2011. He was also the Chairman of Malaysian Life Reinsurance Berhad in 2009 and 2010.

Currently, Md Adnan is the President of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC), and is also the present Chairman of the Joint Insurance Takaful Council. He sits as an Independent Director on the Board of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), and was also recently appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad.

Age: 53

Vincent is the Chief Executive Officer of Gibraltar BSN Life Berhad (formerly known as Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad) and is a qualified actuary with more than 29 years of experience in the insurance industry. He is also the President of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), Chairman of Malaysian Life Reinsurance Berhad and a Board Member of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII). Vincent was President of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) and of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia.

Vincent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from City University London and a Master of Business Administration, majoring in Finance from CASS Business School, London. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, USA, and is also a Registered Financial Planner (RFP).

Vincent is also currently the Chairman of the East Asia Insurance Congress (EAIC) as well as the Chairman of the ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC).

Age: 60

Lillian was in the service of Bank Negara Malaysia for 33 years from 1976 to 2009. She served mainly in the Treasury and Investment Operations Department and was the Chief Representative of the London Office. On her return in 2006, she was appointed to the position of Assistant Governor overseeing Treasury & Investment Operations, Exchange Administration and Currency Operations.

Lillian holds a Bachelor of Economics and Politics degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Seck Guan is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad. During his 30-year career with MSIG Insurance, he has held various senior positions overseeing business operations, business development, bancassurance, information technology, marketing/branding and centralised business processing.

Seck Guan played key strategic and operational roles in charting the company’s steady growth in sales and profit, ensuring a high level of service delivery to its customers/business partners to become one of the leaders in the general insurance industry. His achievements include the successful integration of the general insurance business of Hong Leong Assurance with that of MSIG.

Seck Guan is currently serving as the Chairman of the PIAM Management Committee and also sits on the Boards of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) and the Financial Mediation Bureau. He is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
